Project Description
feynChat is is an all-in-one AI assistant platform with many different AI models from one place, without paying for separate subscriptions or managing API keys.
Instead of signing up for ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini separately, you open feynChat, pick a model from a list, and chat. It also adds extra tools on top, such as image generation, web search, running Python code, and text-to-speech.
Key features:
• Multi-Model Access: Switch between or compare top AI models without needing individual API keys.
• Multimodal Capabilities: Support for analyzing documents, text files, audio, and video inputs.
• Advanced Tools: Built-in web search, code interpreter, and custom configuration settings.

Problem
Power users don't use one AI model. Coders, students and researchers switch between ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini because each is better at different tasks. That means [3–4] subscriptions at roughly $20/month each, separate chat histories, and copy-pasting the same prompt across tabs to compare answers. Of the 1000 users we surveyed, 60% pay for 2+ AI subscriptions and 40% compare answers across models weekly.
Our Approach
feynChat puts every frontier model behind one interface and one chat history. You can switch models mid-conversation and run the same prompt side by side, with tools (web search, code execution, image generation, voice) that work across all of them.
Understanding the Competition
Direct paid aggregators
Competitor | Price | What makes it dangerous |
|---|---|---|
Poe (Quora) | Free; paid $4.99–$249.99/mo | Biggest brand in the category, thousands of community bots, image and video models |
T3 Chat | Free tier; Pro $8/mo | Speed and price; strong developer following |
MultipleChat | Free to start; paid from $20/mo | Side-by-side comparison and models checking each other's answers |
Visual Design
Outcome
Over eight months, I redesigned feyn.chat's core chat experience, focusing on model selection, onboarding, and tool access (web search, code execution, image generation).
Model switching got faster. Users had to scroll a flat list of 30+ models. I grouped them by use case (design, writing, images) and added a recent-models shortcut. Average time to switch models dropped from 10s to 2s.
More users came back. I replaced the empty start screen with task-based prompts that show what each model is good at. 30-day retention went from 17% to 68%, measured across 1000+ users.
More people tried the extra tools. Search, code execution, and text-to-speech were hidden in a menu. I surfaced them inline in the input bar. Tool usage rose 82% in 4 months.
